Use of the IBM Club Warwick distribution list

The IBM Club Warwick distribution list exists as a notification mechanism to our members for activities and offers that may be of interest, and that follow these guidelines. IBM allow the club to use the IT facilities in a responsible manner. These guidelines are our interpretation of what that means.

Notifications may be sent out to the IBM Club Warwick distribution list for:

• An event/offer organised by or on behalf of the IBM Club Warwick committee
• An event/offer organised by or on behalf of the IBM National Club
• An event/offer organised by or on behalf of another IBM Location club where it might reasonably be expected that IBM Club Warwick members may take advantage.
• An event/offer organised by any other person/organisation as long as all of the following criteria are met:
  - EITHER the event is free of charge and is an artistic endeavour in which one or more IBM employees or retirees is participating OR there is a discount being offered to IBM Club Warwick members of at least 10% over and above that which non-Club members will receive.
  - The event conforms to the normal rules for IBM Club events. These are outlined on the UK Club Web page under "Committee Handbook".
  - It is clearly stated that the event is not an IBM Warwick Club event, in the subject or in the first 2 lines of the mail item.
  - The mail item itself is reasonable from both a content and presentation (e.g. mail size; not an executable file; etc...) perspective.
  - The mail item is sent by a member of the committee to the distribution list.
  
  A suitable opening comment for the mail item is as follows:
  "This is not an IBM Club event. However, a discount is being offered to [IBM Club members]. Please contact [the contact person] for details [or to request tickets] (your replies should automatically go to [him])."
