UK IBM Club - Club Location of Choice
How do I select which IBM Club location I belong to?
By default, each IBM Club member in the UK will be affiliated with the IBM Club location that matches their internal mail address, so if your address is in Warwick, and you are happy to be part of IBM Club Warwick, you should be sorted.
If you wish to join IBM Club for the first time, or you wish to change your IBM Club location affiliation, you can do so using an online form. You can find this form via the Membership page of the UK IBM Club web site. If you are an IBM Retiree Club member wishing to affiliate with IBM Club Warwick please send an e-mail to RetireeClubMembership@uk.ibm.com.
Any IBM Club member can attend events from any IBM Club location, so why does this matter?
It matters because of the way IBM Club locations are funded. IBM allocates an amount per IBM Club member, and then distributes it to IBM Club locations according to how many members they have. For most people there is no ambiguity as to which IBM Club location they should be affiliated with. Some people, however, they may find themselves attending events from more than one IBM Club location. In this circumstance they need to consider the balance of events that they are attending, and ensure that the IBM Club location from which they derive the most benefit, benefits in turn from their affiliation. If the pattern of event attendance alters over time you can always change your affiliation.
