Peter Kay Award-winning comic Peter Kay is live at Warwick Arts Centre in October as part of his first ever national stand-up comedy tour. The star of Channel 4 series’ Phoenix Nights and That Peter Kay Thing says of his act: Stand-up is my first love, well that's if you don't count Carol Farrel who cracked two of my ribs doing the Hucklebuck at a church dance. And now I'm living the dream, on my first big tour, fifty nights with something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue (for the Dads). Look seriously, just come, it'll be a laugh and my Mum wants a bungalow. Kay's sell-out Edinburgh Fringe Festival show was nominated for the Perrier Award in 1998. He then scooped the awards for Top Stand Up and Top TV Comedy Newcomer at the British Comedy Awards. And the Bolton born comic will be back on C4 with a new six part series of Phoenix Nights this autumn, but fans will be seeing him a lot sooner in a series of ads for John Smith’s beer. This tour is produced by the same people as The Fast Show Live, The League Of Gentlemen, Bottom and Victoria Wood, so book early! Peter Kay is the best thing to come out of Bolton since Wanderers won the Sherpa Van Trophy in 1989 Timeless and classless, Kay's stand-up is universal, with a sharp ear and eye for the tiny absurdities of daily life that bears comparison with Victoria Wood, Mike Leigh or even Alan Bennett.
