Saturday 16th June 2018, 12:15 PM, at Toddington Station
Warwick Club has reserved 40 tickets for Cream tea on the GWSR at Toddington Station.
Tickets are £17.00 (£14.00 for children) for Warwick Club members, their spouse/partner, and dependent children under 18. Tickets may also be purchased at cost for guests (subject to availability of places) for £33.00 (£26.00 for children) . Full price for these tickets would normally be £33.00 (£26.00 for children) .
Please contact the organiser, Andy Smith, for tickets. Please remember to give your personnel/retiree number, and state how many tickets you would like, and who each ticket which you request at member price is for, their age and relationship to you.
Your ticket price includes all of the following: A £10 voucher that can be used towards the cost of lunch at the Flag & Whistle. A guided tour of the Loco Shed at Toddington at 13:45. Travel on the 14:40 steam service to Broadway, and then returning through Toddington and on to Winchcombe. Cream tea served on this train on departure from Toddington. A guided tour of our Carriage & Wagon department at Winchcombe at 15:45. Travel on the 16:55 steam service to Toddington. We will gather in The Flag and Whistle at 11:45 where lunch will be taken. Your £10 voucher will be approximately sufficient for a main course and a drink. It may be advisable to skip desert given the cream tea to follow. After your meal you are free to explore Toddington Station, but will need to gather at the Loco Shed at 13:45 for the guided tour. Allowing time to walk back to the station to catch the northbound 14:40 we will then enjoy a cream tea on board as we travel the newly re-opened line to Broadway. As the loco runs around at Broadway you will have a short time to explore the newly built station. As the train heads south back through Toddington to Winchcombe (in my view the jewel in the railway's crown) we can anticipate a guided tour of the Carriage & Wagon works when we arrive. There may be a short time to explore Winchcombe before we head back to Toddington on the 16:55 to complete our visit. This is a packed itinerary, and you may well be left feeling you haven't seen all you might want to. I hope that if this is the case you will return soon on your own initiative and explore the full length of the line at your liesure. If you like what you see you may be interested in becoming a shareholder. For an investment of £100 you will be issued with three travel vouchers every year in perpetuity valid on all but special event days. In two years you'll have made your money back, and when you have people to stay you can treat them to a day on the railway.
