Shakespeare’s Henry VI takes you headlong through one of the most turbulent periods of English history. The country descends into barbarism as all around the crown seek to seize it for personal gain. We return to our Chronicles of England’s kings in 2020 with Part 2 of this epic event, staging the three parts of Shakespeare’s Henry VI across two nights. The Wars of the Roses: Part 2 opens as the armies of Lancaster and York face each on the battlefield – the red rose against the white rose. Opposing factions fight for power and England descends from decency into barbarism as all around the crown seek to seize it for their personal gain. Filled with passion, politics and revenge, Shakespeare’s epic journey through the Wars of the Roses is the ultimate saga. Experience the thrill of rebellion, the brutality of battle, the tension of intrigue and ambition without boundaries as Henry VI takes you headlong through one of the most turbulent periods of English history. Feel part of the battle For The Wars of the Roses, we will transform the ground floor of the Swan Theatre with new grandstand seating and 100 standing arena spaces, immersing you in the action. Stand and move amongst the actors; hear every heartbeat, see every bead of sweat and feel part of every battle. Seating in Galleries 1 and 2 will remain unchanged.
